Sylvan Supply is an adaptive re-use development on Charlotte Avenue at the gateway to Nashville’s vibrant Sylvan Park. Since 1959, the collection of industrial style buildings has been home to Madison Mill, a maker of quality wood and steel products. Today, the vintage buildings are being transformed into bright and modern creative office spaces along with a carefully selected mix of retail and dining concepts.

Challenge

The same aspects that made Sylvan Supply exciting made it challenging; cultivating the appropriate mix of retail and dining experiences that would bring in consistent buyers but also cultivate new business without creating competition.

Solution

Equitable’s Elliott Kyle focused on putting together a curated mix of food/beverage, retail, and fitness tenants that would establish Sylvan Supply as the most engaging and relevant destination on the west side of town. Elliott worked with established brands such as Barista Parlor and Woodland Wine Merchant, who he knew had followings on the west side and could bring in consistent customer bases, and with amazing operators such as Bearded Iris and chef Amanda Frederickson to launch new ventures. Elliott pursued cutting edge fitness users such as Full Ride Cycling and Row House to round out the mix.
